Auburn Baseball Uniform Tracker Week 6
Another successful week of Auburn baseball has come on gone. The Tigers played five games throughout the week. Let’s see how they did.
The mid-week games versus the Coppin State Eagles from Maryland consisted of a game each on Tuesday and Wednesday. Auburn continued the ongoing trend of wearing the throwback uniforms. We’ve noticed that Coach Golloway is extremely superstitious, so whatever the team wins in, look for it the next game. The Tigers defeated Coppin State 10-0 on Tuesday, scoring at least one run in every inning. Connor Short and Jordan Ebert both had great games.
The second game versus Coppin State on Wednesday was a 13-2 win for the Tigers. Freshman catcher Blake Logan had a monster game, hitting a 3-run homer in the 2nd inning, and recording a total of 6 RBIs.
The weekend series was the first true road series for the Auburn baseball team as they traveled to Knoxville to take on the #18 Tennessee Volunteers. The Tigers only played one true road game prior to this, and wore grey, so it was an easy prediction that we would see the grey set this weekend. What wasn’t expected at all, the team ended up wearing grey the entire weekend. Like mentioned earlier, Golloway is a superstitious man, so since they beat a top 25 team on Friday, they wore them again on Saturday. Since they won on Saturday, they wore them again on Sunday. Friday and Saturday were great wins, 3-2 and 4-2 respectively. Sunday was a tough 8-6 loss that kept the Tigers from sweeping the Vols.
After a 4-1 record over the weekend and beating a top team, the Auburn Tigers jumped into the top 25 in the polls, #23 in one and #18 in another. This week presents another great week of Auburn baseball. First off, the Tigers host Kennesaw State on Tuesday. They then host Missouri Thursday through Saturday. The Thursday game will be aired on ESPNU with the Saturday game on FSN. The weather is expected to be great, and the announced giveaways are wonderful (tank tops, t-shirts, mini bats)!!
Get out and enjoy the ballpark!
