The long summer suffering with no football is nearly over. As teams prepare for the upcoming season, there have been a multitude of new uniforms and tweaks revealed throughout all of collegiate football. Take a look through an exhaustive list of every uniform design change, tweak, rebrand and more!
The 2019 season marks the 150th anniversary of the very first football game between Rutgers and Princeton. With that, the College Football 150 organization has put together a year-long celebration of the sport. All FBS and FCS teams will wear special 150 patches on their jerseys, as DII and DIII teams will wear helmet decals. Read more about the program here.

ACC
Boston College
Boston College will be resurrecting their Doug Flutie throwback uniforms from last year. The design is the same as last year’s uniforms – accurate stripes and shoulder logos – but upgraded to Under Armour’s new template.
Florida State
The long awaited white numbers will return to the garnet jerseys for 2020. The golden numbers are sticking around for one more year.
Georgia Tech

Alternate grey uniforms celebrating “Cape Day” will be worn against North Carolina on October 5th to honor Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Cape Day is “an annual tradition held in October that encourages the community to honor and celebrate the superhero patients battling illnesses and injuries” at Children’s. The uniforms feature a hexagonal pattern as stripes and the Cape Day logo on the back collar.
Louisville
The Cardinals will be wearing Muhammad Ali-inspired uniforms once again this season. The all white uniforms feature black numerals and arched lettering on the chest. The white helmet is matched with black Cardinal logos and facemasks. The only red to be seen will be the red gloves, representing traditional red boxing gloves.
Miami
Last year, Miami wore adidas “Parley” uniforms made of recycled materials. The Parley technology returns again this season, when the Hurricanes sport all white uniforms against Virginia on October 11. The numbers, which appear to be a throwback from the heyday of Miami football, are basically the only color on the uniform and feature an interior pattern common to the Parley shoe line.
NC State
When North Carolina State hosts Syracuse on October 10, the Wolf Pack will be sporting new white alternate uniforms. The Thursday night game has been selected as Military Appreciation Day, and the uniforms carry that designation as well. The all-white uniforms feature the same shoulder stripes as the primary look, but all silver (black?) with no touch of red. The body of the “Stealth Wolf” uniforms also have a camo pattern printed throughout.
Pittsburgh

Over the last few years, Pitt has struggled with identity issues. The Panthers have gone back and forth between their lighter blue and yellow scheme with the dark navy and gold colors. The script logo recently returned as the primary logo as well. A large portion of fans have clamored for the throwback uniforms to become permanent. They got their wish this season – kinda. In April, Pitt revealed the return of the old color scheme to the team’s uniforms along with a modern twist. A special font was built off of the school’s marque building – the Cathedral of Learning – arches. A second, similar font was also created without the arch on the top, which is the better look. The arch-theme is also repeated on the uniform stripes. I like the arch motif, especially on the stripes. But the font looks odd. The old block font and the secondary arch-less font are much better. Pitt has also introduced a new secondary logo, the Panther Head. The helmets also feature a Pennsylvania state-shaped warning decal, a cool new feature a few teams have been adopting recently.
Syracuse
Another team with identity issues, the Syracuse Orange have struggled to own their aesthetic approach recently. Gone are the large NYC-inspired numerals and back, finally, are the much needed stripes. The new uniforms return Syracuse to a classic look that just feels right. The use of “Orange” as the chestmark on all three jerseys feels a bit much, however. The program has been promoting the return of the helmet stripe, which has been missing since the previous uniforms were revealed in 2014. Syracuse will be shelving their blue helmets going forward, but still have potential for 18 uniform combinations as it currently stands.
Wake Forest
After finally updating their uniforms a few years back, the Demon Deacans have now changed their look again. The interesting shoulder designs representing on-campus architecture have been replaced with simple WF logos. The collars and sleeve cuffs give a good bit of color contrast on the new Vapor Untouchable jerseys.

American Athletic
Cincinnati

The Bearcats have jumped onto Under Armour’s newest template. Cincinnati took the opportunity to make a few small tweaks to the uniforms. The custom stripe has been moved from the shoulder caps to the chest, similar to the current Cleveland Browns uniforms. The shoulder caps are now black on both the home and road jerseys, housing a larger C logo. Red uniforms return as the Bearcats will be wearing uniforms that honor the teams of the 1950s and 1960s. The throwbacks are all red with white and black UCLA stripes and a white, logo-less helmet.
East Carolina
As Mike Houston takes over the ECU football program, the Pirates will be adding new matte black alternate helmets. The team will wear black uniforms with the helmets, but the full design hasn’t been shown yet. The new helmets were worn for spring practice as the purple lids hadn’t returned from reconditioning. The purple chrome helmets will also be making a comeback this season.
Memphis
Honoring academics on uniforms isn’t a new thing in college football, but Memphis will be adding “Tiger Scholar” patches for players earning a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Temple
Temple will be honoring their 1935 Pop Warner-led Sugar Bowl team with throwback uniforms. The white jerseys feature a nice set of Northwestern stripes on the shoulders while the pants are plain cherry red. The white helmet seems to be unchanged from the default look, with the diamond stripe placed down the middle.
UConn

After bringing back the block C logo last year, UConn is going all in. The Huskies will be wearing new uniforms that have a throwback appeal for their 2019 season. Much like their Aeropostale uniforms (yes, really), the new Nike uniforms will be all white and blue – no red – and feature the same rounded font that was prevalent on Husky uniforms in the early 2000s. After many years of suffering through identity crises on the gridiron, it’s nice to see UConn look like UConn once again.
UCF
After wearing space-themed uniforms the last few years, Central Florida has teased a new design for 2019. Those uniforms haven’t been revealed yet, unfortunately, but we know the Knights will wear them against Houston on November 2nd.
USF
USF moved from Under Armour to adidas last year, but due to manufacturing limitations, weren’t able to wear the newest A1 Primeknit template. This season, the Bulls have upgraded to the WVN (“woven”) A1 uniforms, which are similar to the Primeknit. The biggest difference is on the back, where the nameplate is now all mesh and there’s a different material box connected it to the collar. The body of the uniform doesn’t seem to have the pattern either. Last year, USF wore their full U logo on the shoulders. For 2019, the shoulder caps feature just a portion of the logo, rather similar to the Under Armour design. Also, the university released a full-body bull logo in 2018. After feedback that it mimicked Merrill Lynch among others, USF has since killed the academic-only logo and using the U logo throughout.

Big 12
Baylor

School-wide changes for Baylor this season, as the Bears took the opportunity to unite the branding and tweaked the logo. Consistent colors will be used across all sports (other than the basketball teams, which will continue to use the neon green). A new secondary bear logo was created as well. The new football uniforms come in green, gold, and white from head to toe. The design is rather simple at best, but feature a sublimated stripe around the collars (similar in effect to the Jaguars old jerseys) and the bear head on the collar. The Bears will also be playing at home on a new turf design this season, proudly showcasing the new bear head logo.
Iowa State
The Cyclones revealed new uniforms last season, and they felt a tweak or two away from being really great. Iowa State made a few changes over the offseason, and they made big effects. The jerseys previously had a black collar and a glossy red stripe on the shoulder caps. Black is all gone and the shoulders now have yellow stripes. The color balance between the red and white jerseys is so much better this year. Another cool addition is to the helmets, where players will wear their home state flag on the back.
Oklahoma
To celebrate 125 years of football, Oklahoma created a special logo and will wear it on the back of the helmets. It will also be featured on the field at Memorial Stadium.
Texas
The Longhorns will wear #32 decals in memory of former RB Cedrick Benson, who was killed in a motorcycle wreck on August 17th.
TCU

The first reveal of the off-season was in Fort Worth, Texas, as TCU showcased a throwback-inspired design for their new uniforms. The new helmets, jerseys, and pants come in purple, white, and black. The jerseys showcase a diamond collar design hearkening back to the LaDainian Tomlinson era. Striped facemasks add a bit of color and extend the helmet stripe. The shoulder design is really unique and pops so well on the white jerseys.
Texas Tech
Under Armour let leak images of Texas Tech’s throwback uniforms returning this season, but the team hasn’t announced them yet. It appears the white helmets with the red stars will be included.
West Virginia
West Virginia and Nike spent the last two years working on a unified brand identity for the Mountaineer athletics programs. Colors and logo usage was standardized and a new font was developed. The new numerals are a nice evolution from the pickax font used on the previous uniforms. Numbers, collars, and sleeve cuffs on the jerseys feature a light chevron pattern, mimicking the design of the WV logo. The new uniforms are incredibly simple, but the color combinations work well here. The lack of striping is unfortunate, however. Blue, yellow, and white full uniforms were revealed. Grey jerseys and pants return for the first time since 2012. West Virginia released a great website showcasing the uniform combinations with some history as well.

Big 10
Indiana
Alternate uniforms will be worn October 12th versus Rutgers to honor Indiana state’s bicentenial celebration. The Hoosiers will be wearing new jerseys that feature arched chestmarks with the standard sublimated candy-cane striping on the shoulders. The white pants also feature the contrasting stripes, albeit very lightly. Indiana’s helmets will showcase a different IU logo, pulling from one of the earliest teams in school history. The team will wear bicentennial helmet decals all season, also. Last year, Indiana removed player names from team uniforms to follow the university’s branding guidelines. Football is getting an “exception” to the rule and will return the nameplates to the jerseys for 2019.
Iowa

In 1996, Iowa wore a bold set of black uniforms with gold wings across the shoulders. For 2019, Iowa will break out an inverse design, going full gold with black stripes. The modern edition doesn’t have the character of the original Apex jerseys, but makes for a fun alternate regardless. The helmets will feature slightly larger tigerhawk decals and a thicker stripe and a yellow mask.
Maryland
In part of the CFB 150 celebration, Maryland will be wearing throwback uniforms that feature beautiful shoulder striping and the return of the script Terps helmet decals. The set is meant to honor the 1980s teams, including the ones led by Boomer Esiason. But the helmet stripes don’t match those uniforms, but rather the 1991 design. The minor details like that are a bit disappointing, but these make for a great uniform for Maryland. Under Armour added a faux mesh pattern to the numbers to many of their heritage uniforms this season which makes for a great detail.
Michigan State
The most garish uniform of the season belongs to the Michigan State Spartans, who will be wearing some neon green alternates at some point in 2019. Michigan State basketball has sported the lime green before, but this is the first time football will be blinding their fans and opponents. The pants are all bright green and match the helmet decals and the comically over-sized “STATE” on the chest. So large, in fact, it gets cut off by the jersey cut. You can only imagine how bad that aspect alone will look on the larger players on the team.
Minnesota
New turf for the Golden Gophers, as Minnesota United FC will no longer be sharing the stadium. Maroon is featured more prominently and the stadium logo is added to the field.
Nebraska

The longtime tradition of Black Shirts for Nebraska defensive players has come full-circle as the Huskers will wear black uniforms this season. The jerseys feature the Black Shirts helmet-wearing skull and crossbones logo on the shoulders, red TV numbers on the shoulders, and red nameplates. The helmet will have black facemasks and N decals, which differs from the skull’s helmet on the jerseys.
Northwestern
Among the few teams wearing the latest Under Armour template is the Northwestern Wildcats. The upgrade in jersey template doesn’t seem to effect the design. The Wildcats will also be wearing a new Gothic-style uniform, replacing the previous edition that featured elements based on the campus architecture. In addition to that, Northwestern will be wearing fauxback uniforms against Wisconsin. The uniforms are inspired by uniform designs of the past, but truly were meant to mimic the look Wisconsin will wear. They’re rather simple, but still a pretty good look.
Penn State
The throwback uniforms with player numbers on the helmets, white sleeve cuffs, and a single pants stripe will return for 2019 when Penn State hosts Purdue on October 5.
Wisconsin
The Badgers have joined the small group wearing Under Armour’s new template. The primary uniforms won’t see any design change. For the Northwestern game, Wisconsin will be wearing throwback uniforms. Simple “UW” letters are placed on the white helmet and red jerseys, while the pants are tan colored with a circle-W logo.

Conference USA
Marshall
The Thundering Herd try and get one new uniform each season, and 2019 will see a new white jersey. The black shoulder caps have been removed and the chestmark is larger than previously. The M-Herd logo is still awkwardly low on the shoulders, unfortunately.

UTEP
To honor the victims of the El Paso shooting, UTEP will be wearing #ElPasoStrong decals on their helmets all season long.
MID-AMERICAN
Ball State
New red jerseys for the Cardinals that now match the white tops worn last season. The old red shirts had no striping at all. Ball State will also have new 3D bumpers on their helmets.
Bowling Green
The Falcons will be wearing new uniforms this season – white and brown – that feature the now catalog-option design that Boise State first revealed a few years ago. The slanted stripes look good here, but the team name on the pants stripe is unfortunate. Bowling Green will also be returning to traditional helmet striping rather than the tapered stripe of recent years. A big upgrade for the Falcons all around.
Central Michigan
The Chippewas will be rocking new adidas jerseys this season. The original tire treads are no more which is always an immediate upgrade.. The adidas logo moves from center chest to the right side and the Chippewas font was made to match the Power-C logo on the helmets.
Eastern Michigan

EMU has played with their uniform designs for a few years now, but I think they nailed it with their latest look. The Eagles revealed new white and green uniforms that showcase a great set of shoulder stripes and emphasize the steel theme adopted recently. The silver numbers on the white jerseys are borderline illegal, so it will be interesting to see if those pose any issues come game day. The new template does wonders as the old tire treads were way too prevalent on this shade of green.
Kent State
Kent State has replaced their blue-trimmed white uniforms with yellow-trimmed white uniforms.
Ohio
Template upgrade for the Bobcats, who are dropping the tire treads on their green jerseys for the Primeknit A1 template. Certain, brighter colors seem to showcase the template pattern more than others, so it was necessary for Ohio to get away from them.
Toledo
No more dot-matrix stripes for the Rockets who are updating their blue uniforms to the slanted-stripe design. Thankfully, they bucked the trend of team name on the pants for the matching striped look.
Mountain West
The Mountain West will be honoring student-athletes that have earned their degree with new graduate patches, joining a number of other conferences.
Boise State
The school that made the colored field turf popular has replaced their old blue carpet…with new blue carpet. You can see just how washed out the old version was in this image. The Broncos will be wearing a new set of black uniforms this year. Matte black helmets feature a chrome blue bronco head decal and facemask. The normal striping and chest mark are unfortunately tone-on-tone.
Colorado State

A lot of uniform news out of Fort Collins this summer. The Rams’ popular State Pride uniforms will return this season for the November 2nd game against UNLV. The Colorado A&M orange throwbacks will also return. As the school celebrates its 150th anniversary, the football team will wear special white helmets for the October 5th homecoming game against San Diego State. The helmets feature the circle ram head logo on the sides, replacing the horn decals, and a beautiful gold/green/gold stripe down the middle. The back of the shells has the school’s sesquicentennial logo.
Hawaii
Hawaii hasn’t officially announced it yet, but Under Armour leaked it during their Heritage Uniform promotions – the Rainbow Warriors throwbacks will be returning for 2019. One of the best alternates in all of college football. Hopefully they go with one of the better helmet designs rather than the basic look.
Nevada
New blue jerseys for the Wolfpack this season, who have updated from tire tread tops. The new jerseys have white cuffs and reintroduce TV numbers.
San Jose State
The Spartans have added a new white helmet to be rotated in with the blue and yellow shells. San Jose State will also kick off the 2019 season with throwback helmet decals.
UNLV
The Rebels are playing their final season at Sam Boyd Stadium before moving into the Las Vegas Raiders’ new Allegiant Stadium closer to campus. UNLV will kick off the season by wearing throwback silver helmets with red UN decals, the same design worn from 1969 to 1972. The Rebels also are wearing a slightly different 150 patch this season, one with their team colors rather than the standard black and silver.
Wyoming
After switching to adidas last year and wearing not-so-flattering uniforms, the Wyoming Cowboys have updated their look for 2019. The return of the traditional striping is a massive upgraded and was much needed over the old look.

Pac 12
Arizona
To honor the soldiers that died on the USS Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attacks, Arizona broke out the commemorative helmets for their trip to Hawaii last Saturday in Week 0. The Wildcats previously wore the special grey uniforms in 2016 when the Warriors traveled to Tucson.
Arizona State
The Sun Devils will be utilizing the great state flag design on new alternate white uniforms this season. The helmets and pants have matching maroon stripes and the jerseys feature a new square numeral font.
California
No announcement from the team, but Under Armour showcased images and retail jerseys of the Joe Roth-era throwbacks returning this season.
Colorado
Colorado is bucking the trend of teams wearing the CFB 150 patch on the jerseys and going with the helmet decals instead.
Oregon

Oregon, the poster-child program for Nike, will once again debut a new football uniform template from their manufacturer. When the Ducks revealed their new design last season, they were met with a lot of different opinions, naturally. The biggest point of contention for many were the insanely large numbers. When Oregon runs out on the field for the 2019 season, they’ll be wearing a new template from Nike, dubbed the Vapor Fusion that regresses on many of the advances the Vapor Untouchable template was able to accomplish. While the VU template featured minimal seams and no flashy accents Nike has become infamous for, this new design has many more seams and a new collar design nearly reminiscent of the old FlyWire. The VU template was nearly perfect, and it’s sad to see Nike go away from it. The Ducks revealed five different full uniforms, including two different white sets. The white sets feature either bright or dark green details. Last year’s white uniforms only had black numerals, which made it difficult to mix and match articles. “Nightmare Green” returns and looks to replace the black uniforms. At least they removed the contrasting nameplates. Oregon will also have a new turf at their home stadium, with the yardline numerals matching the uniform font.
Oregon State
It’s been six years since the Beavers revealed their new logo and striped facemask uniforms. I personally loved the look, but it wasn’t very popular among fans. Oregon State’s new uniforms feature an awesome set of stripes on the shoulders and down the pants, with the latter unfortunately ending too short. The new numbers have a wood ring detail imprinted. The black jersey has a light wood, almost creme, coloring. The chest mark is simply “BEAVS,” which Nike claims to be the common name used in reference to the Beavers’ teams.
Stanford
With all teams wearing the CFB 150 patches this season, Stanford will be putting their own twist on the program. The Cardinal will wear the 150 patch for the first game, but wear a team-specific 125 seasons patch the rest of the year. The Stanford 125 logo will be worn as a helmet decal week one.
UCLA
UCLA is another team their own twist on the CFB 150 initiative. The 150 patch will don the Bruins’ white road jerseys, while UCLA will celebrate their own 100th season with a special patch on the blue tops.
Utah
Alongside many other Under Armour teams, Utah revealed throwback uniforms to be worn against UCLA. Red jerseys with large numbers and the shoulders featuring “UTAH” and “UTES” on either side will be worn to honor the 1966 and 1967 teams. Silver helmets are to be worn with this design, but Utah didn’t share many photos of the entire uniform.
Washington
For 2019, Washington has changed over from Nike to adidas. The new uniforms remove the contrasting shoulder caps, chest spikes, and a new font without the gold corners will be used. The new numbers are based off the W logo. Both jerseys have a double-purple stripe on the shoulders. It looks great on the white jerseys, but gets lost on the purple tops. A subtle rain drop pattern is printed over the numerals.

SEC
Alabama
The Crimson Tide will finally be joining the list of teams wearing 3D bumpers.
Arkansas

Darren McFadden-era throwbacks will be worn a few times this season. Arkansas looks to be returning to a classic look, and will more than likely transition to these full time next year. The simpler look is great and an improvement in the eyes of many Razorback fans. I personally think the current look is rather nice, but can get on board for the throwback look as well. Arkansas will also be trading in the turf field for natural grass for the first time since 2009. Red endzones will be used for the first time
Auburn
The Tigers join the list of teams wearing the new template from Under Armour. Auburn also will be making a logo change over the next year, but it isn’t expected to be reflected on the uniforms this season.
Florida
No official announcement from Florida, but retail jerseys have been on sale showcasing a throwback design for the Gators. The jerseys are similar to what was worn in 2006 and the Gators are expected to go with a similar look this year. These will be worn on October 5th versus Auburn.
Georgia
New front and rear 3D bumpers for Georgia this season. As teams have been showcasing their CFB 150 patches, Georgia made sure to include their black jerseys in the bunch. There’s always an off-season push for the Bulldogs to break out the black tops for the first time in years. The addition of the new patches makes it seem more likely this time around that they will be used.
LSU
Each season, LSU selects players to wear the coveted #18 jerseys. This season, center Lloyd Cushenberry was awarded the honorable number. Because of position number rules, Cushenberry will stick with #79 but wear the #18 as a patch on his jersey.
Mississippi State

The Bulldogs will be wearing new black alternate uniforms this season. The design is based on the primary uniforms but with a new twist on the striping. The outer stripes and numbers feature computer circuit board-graphics on “iridescent, color-shifting stripes” that pays homage to the T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability on campus. The Center strives to “ensure that persons with disabilities are able to continually benefit from technological solutions and advances in the field of assistive technology.” Retail jerseys also showcased what might be new gold-accented jerseys for the Egg Bowl versus Ole Miss. Gold-accented uniforms haven’t been worn in the game since 2014.
Missouri
Mizzou has been slowly transitioning to more traditional uniform designs, including using the circle-tiger logo more often. Lately, traditional striping has been used on promotional images and in promo photo shoots. A recruit also showcased what appears to be new white pants with matching stripes.
Ole Miss
The Rebels are celebrating 125 years of football with a commemorative logo. Doesn’t appear that it will be worn on the jerseys, but possibly as a helmet decal.
South Carolina
The Gamecocks will be throwing back to the “Black Magic” era teams with new throwback uniforms. Black jerseys feature beautiful striping and faux-mesh numbers. The garnet helmets showcase the white-circle logo and the white pants make this a beautiful look. The design isn’t entirely accurate to the 1980s teams, however.
Texas A&M
Another SEC team with a commemorative 125 season logo that will be worn on the Aggies’ helmets and featured on the 25-yardlines at Kyle Field.
Vanderbilt
Out are the old FlyWire template uniforms and in are contrast-stitching Vapor Untouchable unis for the Commodores. The Cleveland Browns utilized the stitch-highlighting design with their newest uniforms. They looked bad then, they look bad now. Otherwise, Vandy’s new uniforms aren’t too different design-wsie, but do tweak a few things. The black jerseys now have silver shoulder caps instead of black, while the white jerseys change from black to also utilize the silver shoulders. The sublimated anchor logos on the shoulders are larger than before. The number font has changed from the thin style to a more traditional block look, and now feature the sublimated anchors. Chain stripes, albeit lightly sublimated, are now on the pants, matching the helmet stripes. The Commodores have also showcased a “Battle Ready” all-grey alternate that is paired with a special helmet. The helmet resembles the metal of a battleship and has 82 painted rivets to honor former tight end Turner Cockrell. Cockrell passed away from cancer in November 2018. He wore #82.

Georgia State
The Panthers have added 3D bumpers to the front and rear bumpers on their helmets for 2019.
Louisiana-Lafayette

Longtime equipment manager Lynn Williams passed away after serving the school for over thirty years. The Ragin’ Cajuns will be wearing an LW memorial decal on their helmets this season in his honor. The team has also added new front and rear 3D bumpers to the black helmets. 3D numbers are also a new addition to the helmets.
South Alabama
New white jerseys for the Jaguars, as South Alabama has updated adidas templates. The adidas logo moving from the center chest over to the left while the chest marks goes from blue to red.
Troy
Great upgrade for Troy as the Trojans will have new red jerseys and white pants this year. The previous set had simple double stripes but now have a nice set of stripes. The pant stripes taper a bit, possibly to resemble a sword. Numbers have changed from a beveled silver italic font to a standard block style in white – a big upgrade. The simple white chestmark is the only disappointing piece of this new look. Troy will also be playing on new turf this season. The kick-off marks at the 35 yard lines are crossed swords – a great touch.
D1 Independents
Army
Army was set to wear the CFB 150 patches like the rest of college football, but head coach Jeff Monken wasn’t a fan. The Black Knights will remove the 150 patches from their home black jerseys, but continue to wear it on the white tops.
BYU
New seven-year contract with Nike was announced in March. The announcement website showcased a ton of royal blue uniform photos, including football. Hopefully BYU will go the way of Pitt and soon adopt the superior color scheme.
Liberty
The Flames are reportedly upgrading their white jerseys to match the red tops, and tweaking the decals on their red and white helmets.
Massachusetts
All new uniforms for the Minutemen this year as UMass has updated to new adidas uniforms. The jerseys now feature the entire state/school name on the chest and no longer use multiple outlines on the numbers. Shoulder striping has been simplified also. The biggest change here is with the white helmets, which will utilize a script font rather than the block logo.
Notre Dame
The Irish join the teams sporting Under Armour’s new template for their primary uniforms. Notre Dame will also have throwback uniforms to honor the 1988 championship team. The design is pretty much the same as the primaries, but feature Under Armour’s new faux-mesh numbers design. These uniforms unfortunately use the current number font rather than the large block font from Champion authentic to the 1988 team.

FCS
Alcorn State
New adidas jerseys for the formerly Russell Athletics-clad Braves.
Bryant
Template change for the Bulldogs, who have also changed the chestmark to match the team logo.
Charleston Southern
The Bucaneers have adopted a new primary logo. The team also revealed a new set of uniforms with beautiful UCLA stripes and two new helmets.
Citadel
Navy stripes and logo outlines have been removed from the Citadel’s helmets for 2019.
Colgate
The Raiders kicked off the 2019 season against Villanova in Week 0, sporting brand new white alternate helmets and Under Armour uniforms. Colgate traditionally wears maroon shells and has dabbled in alternate helmets before. They did wear a white shell for throwback uniforms last year. The helmets also sport special “oak leaf filled” wordmarks on the rear bumpers. The Raiders were previously outfitted by Nike.
Cornell
The Big Red have added black to their logo and stripe decals and new white facemasks. The team previously wore grey masks.
Duquesne

In May, Duquesne revealed their new branding, complete with new logos, fonts, and consistent colors school-wide. The reveal website showcases the new D logo to be placed at midfield and on the helmets, along with a unique chevron stripe. The team hasn’t showcased any photographs of the uniforms with the new branding, however.
Florida A&M
The Rattlers have updated their white jerseys to the Vapor Untouchable template. The numbers change from green with orange outlines to orange with green outlines.
Furman
Grey alternate uniforms on tap for the Paladins this season. The Furman chestmark and full pants stripes are nice changes from the primary designs. The helmet also receives a grey stripe.
Howard
Multitude of changes for the Bison in 2019. The white and blue jerseys, along with blue pants, get massive upgrades over last year’s look with the addition of stripes all around. The custom wordmark on the chest is a nice touch. Helmets also go from silver to white with the bison head logo.
Idaho State
New logo for the Bengals is a nice clean-up of the previous mark. No word if this will affect the football uniforms, as Idaho State tends to wear the interlocking IS letters.
Incarnate Word
UIW has updated their black and red jerseys for 2019. The black jerseys keep the same design from last year, but the adidas logo moves from the center chest to the left side. The red tops drop the shoulder stripes and changes the numbers from white to black. The new template also results in a new adidas logo placement.
Long Island

Long Island University has consolidated their Post and Brooklyn campus athletic departments into one team for the 2019-20 season. The new Sharks football team will play their first season in FCS at the Brooklyn campus. Light blue and yellow were selected for the team colors, which is always a great combo on the football field. Unfortunately the helmets have the LIU block letters instead of the amazing shark logo.
McNeese State
Subtle changes for the Cowboys as McNeese State has changed from standard glossy helmet decals to satin chrome. The pop and shine in the new decals make a big difference.
Mississippi Valley State
A full transition to Nike means new uniforms for the Delta Devils. MVSU previously wore Russell Athletic uniforms.
Northern Iowa
The Panthers have added new matte black helmets to the arsenal and might be adding a white shell as well.
Rhode Island
When shoulder stripes typically aren’t your uniform provider’s strong suit, simple is better. The Rams will be sporting new white uniforms this season with a really nice and simple design on the shoulders. Rhode Island previously wore an anchor logo in that spot. The navy and blue scheme used by the Rams works perfectly.
Samford

Red is no more for the Bulldogs new blue jerseys, which are all navy and white. The Bulldogs also have new white helmets.
Southern Illinois
The Salukis have a new logo that will naturally be reflected on the helmets this season. The team previously wore SIU letter decals.
Tennessee State
The Tigers have replaced their adidas uniforms with Nike threads. The number and chest marks seems to be off-centered, however. TSU will also have new metallic-flake facemasks for 2019.
Tennessee Tech
The Eagles have replaced their UCLA-striped look for the new adidas template and smaller shoulder stripes. Tech will also have new wing helmet decals for 2019.
Towson
New white helmets for the Tigers this year.
VMI
Teams are celebrating the 150th anniversary of college football in many different ways, but VMI looks to be the only one placing the logo at midfield. The Keydets will also have new white uniforms that now match the red tops.
Weber State
New purple jerseys with black details replace the cat-scratched tops previously worn.
William & Mary
The Tribe moved from Nike to new Under Armour uniforms. The green and white jerseys have two different designs and are on two separate templates.

Division 2
Arkansas-Monticello
The famed Boll Weevils have added a new decal to the back of their helmets honoring the “great timber industry, duck and deer hunting, and of course the Boll Weevils that are in the beautiful southeast Arkansas.”
Arkansas Tech
The Wonder Boys (yes, really) are changing from adidas to Nike this season. Green and yellow look great, but nice stripes work amazingly.
Bowie State
Simple change for Bowie State, moving from glossy helmets to matte finish.
Grand Valley State

New black uniforms for the Lakers, with a new GVSU anchor helmet stripe. The old black tops had plain white numbers, where the new jerseys have blue outlines. The block font and GVSU chestmark with the underline work much better. GVSU will wear these on September 7th versus Edinboro in the team’s season opener.
Limestone College
New uniforms with many stripes for the Saints, replacing super simple adidas uniforms.
Michigan Tech
No more contrasting shoulder caps as the Huskies have some clean new white jerseys.
New Mexico Highlands
New primary cowboy and secondary H logos for NMHU. Would expect to see either of these replace the HU helmet decals.
North Greenville
The Crusaders’ head coach dressed up in the new all-red uniforms for the team’s first look.
Oklahoma Baptist
After debuting new home uniforms last year, the Bison have brand new white threads this season. The previous design was a stock Nike catalog option.
Simon Fraser
The only Canadian NCAA school has a new logo and color scheme this season. The Crusaders have dropped blue from their brand and simplified the logo. The uniforms reflect the change, as the new red and white uniforms remove the blue worn previously.
West Alabama
No more silver numbers and claw scratches on the shoulders for the Tigers, as West Alabama has updated to new red adidas jerseys.
Western New Mexico
The rare downgrade this year, as the Mustangs have new white jerseys that drop the spectacular shoulder design that matches the purple shirts.
Winston-Salem State
The Rams have ditched their Russell Athletic uniforms for new Under Armour duds.
Division 3
Bates College

The Bobcats from Lewistone, Maine, have added a tapering stripe to their helmets for 2019.
Christopher Newport
The Captains have new white jerseys to match the blue tops worn last season.
Cortland
New red uniforms for 2019 for the the Red Dragons out of New York. The red jerseys will now match the whites. Cortland previously wore stripe-less red jerseys.
John Carroll
New set of logos for the Blue Streaks to replace a rather simple lightning-bolt logo. Not expecting this to be worn on the football helmets, as the team wears logo-less lids.
Lebanon Valley College
The Dutchmen have added a new matte grey helmet that has a faint fade to navy to the wardrobe. LVC wore Navy-inspired helmets last season.
St. John Fisher College
The Rochester-based Cardinals are changing from UCLA-striped red jerseys to jerseys with Nike-catalog dot matrix stripes.
UMass Dartmouth
New yellow jerseys and matte navy helmets on tap for the Corsairs.
UMHB
The defending national champions will have new purple uniforms this season. The old purple tops had the stripes only on the chest, whereas the new ones go up and around the shoulder caps and match the yellow shirts.
U.S. Coast Guard
The Bear’s new turf field will feature the bear claw logo at midfield and orange endzones. Previously, the Coast Guard had CGA lettering at midfield.

The design pendulum has clearly swung back to the simple side of things, but I would imagine there will still be some crazy, outlandish uniforms in the short future.
