Another Auburn Athletics season has come and gone. Here at the Auburn Uniform Database, we like to take a look back at the year through a different lens than most others.
Enjoy this look back at all the uniform news from the 2023-2024 Auburn Tigers season!
A New Deal
The biggest news of the year came just a few weeks ago. Auburn announced in early April that they would be moving to Nike for the 2025 season. A nearly 20-year relationship with Under Armour will be coming to a close after this next season of athletics.
At the time of publishing, there is just over one year remaining in the contract. For those of you counting down the days, July 1, 2025, is your day of celebration.
You can read more about the ins and outs of the deal, what it means for Auburn, and how the transition will occur here.
Baseball
It was a “if it could go wrong, it did” kind of season for the Auburn Baseball team. From injuries to poor bounces and everything in between, the Tigers struggled to move in the right direction for too long. It doesn’t help when you start conference play with five of the top teams in the country.
Auburn sported the same uniforms this season that debuted last year. For most of the season, the Tigers kept the uniform schedule from last season intact. It wasn’t until a late-season surprise reveal of white throwback-inspired uniforms that the plans changed.
With Florida A&M in town for a midday game in late April, the Tigers celebrated a Throwback Day with a new uniform. A new white ballcap was worn, sporting an orange AU logo with a navy outline and a navy blue bill. The jerseys had the same AU logo colorway on the chest. The back player number matched the orange/navy look while the front number was all navy, matching the rest of the uniform set from the previous year.
Regardless if they were designed to mimic the Hal Baird-era looks or match the primary uniforms worn, the new white threads missed the mark. The mismatched number designs on the front and the back were the biggest issue with this look. The orange/navy colorway is a great look for this program and had a lot of potential. The jerseys also lacked the placket and sleeve piping to match the 1990s look.
While the Under Armour news was still months away from releasing, Auburn Baseball went ahead and replaced the UA-produced batting helmets during the fall season. The new Evoshield helmets would carry over to the spring and be worn all season.
The overall design of the helmets remained the same. Auburn kept the 3D decals on the front and rear of the shell. They continued to wear two different designs to match the ballcaps worn. The biggest difference came at the finish of the helmet. The 2023 Under Armour helmets were a high-gloss navy finish. The 2024 Evoshield shells were a matte finish navy.

Men’s Basketball
The 2023-24 Auburn Men’s Basketball season kicked off with a brand new set of uniforms on the latest Under Armour template.
The Tigers would fight through a tough SEC schedule and take home the SEC Tournament title in Nashville.
Beyond the new threads, it was an uneventful season uniform-wise. There were no blood jersey appearances for the first time in what feels like a few years. Nothing out of the ordinary beyond the NCAA patch being added to the white jerseys (but we won’t discuss that game…).
Beyond the uniforms, Bruce Pearl and the Auburn coaching staff sported special pins all season long. The pins included the USA flag along with the Israel flag. Pearl, a Jewish-American, has been outspoken on the ongoing war in the Middle East and the increasing harassment and hate crimes of Jewish people.

As outspoken on the situation in Israel as Pearl is, I'd expect to see these worn throughout the majority of the season. pic.twitter.com/o6QgVSRlrQ
Below are the final records for every uniform that the Tigers wore in 2024.

Women’s Basketball
Like the men’s team, the Auburn Women’s program debuted new uniforms for the 2023-24 season. The new set was more consistent across the board than the men’s counterparts. All three colorways included lightly sublimated tiger stripes across the shoulders and bottom of the shorts. It’s one of those details that would likely never be noticed unless otherwise noted.
The orange uniforms would return to the court for the WBB team after a long hiatus. It would be nearly five years and a 140-game span from the last orange game – a 2018 win against Alabama State. Whether it was superstition, unavailable uniforms, messed up orders, or what, the Tigers finally had a full wardrobe to utilize again.
The Tigers also sported a new pink uniform this season, their first new design since 2018. It’s only the third pink uniform worn in program history. The shorts would feature a pink colorway of the AU logo, a first in WBB uniform history.
The Tigers wore five unique uniforms over the last season. Here’s how they performed:
The Women’s Basketball uniforms catalog dates back to the 2003-04 season. Those historic designs can be seen here.
Football
The first season of a new coach featured its fair share of ups and downs. From a historic win at Cal (more on that shortly) to a disappointing bowl game performance in front of a majority Auburn crowd, Tigers fans were on another rollercoaster trip.
The first aesthetic move of the season came at the expense of the former coach. Last year, under Harsin, Auburn wore their first captain C patches that mimicked the NFL’s patch design. Freeze’s first team sported a new captaincy design that better fit the uniform’s design.
The new patch was simply a block letter C that likely came from the stack used for the player nameplates. It appears to be the same letters used by the Auburn Baseball team under former coach Sunny Golloway.
While one former coach’s touch was changed, another, arguably larger aesthetic change, remained intact.
The alternate white and orange facemasks that Harsin introduced in 2021 returned for their third year of use. And, despite the multiple games they’ve each been worn this far, we saw a few “firsts” for both.
In week two, Auburn traveled to California to face the Cal Golden Bears for the first time. This was only the Tigers’ fourth game in the state of California in program history. Auburn would wear the white facemasks for the game, marking the Tigers’ first win in white masks, in California, and against California – all in one go.
Auburn’s road trip to Texas A&M would mark the first time the orange facemasks were paired with the white jerseys since 1983.
It's happening!!

Auburn will break out the orange facemasks for Saturday morning's game at Texas A&M. It's the first appearance of the orange masks this year and the first time paired with the white jerseys since a 13-7 victory over #4 Georgia in 1983. pic.twitter.com/PfCirQjjL5
Beyond that, there wasn’t much noteworthy uniform-wise for the Tigers in 2023. The Hilinki’s Hope decals, first worn for Auburn in 2022, would return for the Georgia game. The Hilinski’s Hope Foundation was created to honor Tyler Hilinski and generate awareness and support for suicide prevention. Tyler played quarterback at Washington State. He committed suicide in 2018 after his junior year, shocking the Washington State and college football communities.
The 2024 season will kick off with a new jersey template. We’ve only seen a single tease at this point. But don’t worry, the Auburn Uniform Database will stay on top of it. You can expect a full breakdown of this new template just before the season begins.
Here are the four uniform combinations – helmet, facemask, jersey, pants, and bowl patch – that the Tigers wore during the 2023 season:
The largest uniform collection on this site is, of course, football. You can view uniforms from 1921 to the present day here after another decade of historic uniforms were recently added to the archives.
Gymnastics
The 2024 Auburn Gymnastics season saw 13 different leotards worn in 13 meets. Of those leos, four were brand new and a fifth made its team debut after being worn by Derrian Gobourne in the NCAA Championships last year.
The new designs featured the program’s first new pink leotard since 2019 and a Northwestern Stripe-adorned leo.

Soccer
The 2023 Auburn Soccer season was a fight for the Tigers, ending with an 8-7-5 overall record.
The third season of the current uniform set saw two unique changes. First, Auburn switched to plain, solid-colored socks after sporting striped hosiery the previous two seasons.
The Tigers also debuted a new short-sleeve light blue goalkeeper jersey. After the keeper has almost exclusively worn orange for many years now, they sported the two light blue kits the most in 2023.
The short-sleeve version is slightly different than the long-sleeve cut, too. While both include the full sash stripe, the SS style has a white collar, white Under Armour logo, and white areas on the sides of the jersey. The LS style is solid blue with no additional colors seeping into the design.

Softball
Head coach Mickey Dean announced mid-season that he would retire at the end of the year. The Auburn Softball team had to compete for a postseason bid and play well to send their coach off the right way. They did that, earning yet another bid to the Tallahassee Regional.
The Tigers sported the same uniforms this season as last. It wasn’t until the LSU series that we saw something new.
For the sixth year, the thirteen SEC programs honored Alex Wilcox, the Mississippi State player who died in 2018 after battling ovarian cancer. While her Bulldogs and some other programs had introduced teal into their uniforms for this weekend, Auburn hadn’t tweaked theirs. The Tigers have sported the teal base layer shirts and ribbons in the past, but never implemented it into the uniforms themselves.
That changed when Auburn introduced a new white jersey with teal trim in Baton Rouge. This also marked the first time that Auburn had worn a specifically created jersey for a special cause like this. In the past, the Tigers had worn pink t-shirts for games in honor of breast cancer awareness.
The Auburn wordmark, player numbers, AU logo on the back of the jersey, and the placket striping were all teal and navy. The Tigers paired the new tops with new teal socks and the plain navy blue practice pants. This was the first time any of these elements were worn in games.
As has been tradition in previous years, Auburn sported a few different batting helmet designs in 2024. The non-conference portion of the schedule saw the plain white Mizuno helmets used last season.
Once the SEC schedule began, the Tigers adopted a new design that included navy blue details around the bill and the air vents. It was paired with an outline-only version of the AU logo, another item that the program has tended to use previously.
When the calendar changed to May and postseason play was underway, the Tigers debuted another helmet colorway. This was the same base design as the SEC-play lids, but swapped the navy trim and facemasks for orange. The AU logo was also rendered in the primary navy/orange colorway. All in all, it was a much better look than the previous design.
With so many jerseys, pants, belts, and socks to mix and match, the Auburn Softball team continues to wear as many combinations as they desire. The 2024 final count was 18 unique looks (including the three with the NCAA patch). That falls just shy of the program record of 19 set in 2021.
Here are how all 18 combos performed throughout the season:

Volleyball
The Auburn Volleyball program continues to reach new heights each season under Brent Crouch. For the second straight season, the Tigers earned an NCAA Tournament bid. It was also the first time since 1992 that Auburn had won 20 or more games in consecutive seasons.
The season began with the Tigers debuting a new home court. What is the third edition of the Neville Arena volleyball court, the new design is primarily navy and covers the entire basketball surface. The previous design was orange with the navy basketball court baseline and sidelines still being visible. Before that, the volleyball team had the lines taped directly to the basketball court.
The uniform situation for Auburn Volleyball has been all over the place in recent seasons. The Tigers have two primary jersey designs – one includes the Northwestern Stripes on the sleeves and sides of the abdomen, while the others are stripeless and a solid color. The libero player sported the same light blue jersey from 2020, complete with the Auburn Unity patch in place on the chest.
For 2023, the Tigers introduced a new set of sleeveless tanktop jerseys to incorporate into the rotation. Two colorways were sported this season, both including the same abdomen and sleeve stripes as the primary jerseys. The team wore the navy style while the libero continued the light blue trend. Both jerseys included the 1985 version of the script Auburn wordmark, which has seen a resurgence outside of the baseball program recently.
