You have waited long enough. College football returns this week!
While you waited and read practice reports, the Auburn Uniform Database was busy collecting all the new uniforms for the season to compile into this list. And it’s not just uniforms! Here, you’ll find a full breakdown of new conferences, anniversary patches, newly redesigned logos, turf field replacements, and so much more.
Before we dive into the individual conferences and teams, there are some overarching items to cover:
Last year, Nike rolled out the new Vapor FUSE template. This year, many teams have made the transition to the new template style. Likewise, Under Armour has a new template. You can see a detailed breakdown here.
The NCAA has approved a few new rules that could impact the aesthetics of college football:
Helmet communications are now allowed, similar to the NFL. The NFL indicates which helmets are radio-equipped with a green dot on the back. While it’s unclear how most teams and conferences will indicate the helmets, Auburn will utilize a green “C2P” (Coach 2 Player Communication) dot decal. Expect to see this throughout the SEC and likely beyond.
Teams are now permitted to sell advertisement space on the football fields. While this was approved in early June, only Tennessee has announced a partnership at the time of writing. With this announcement likely setting off dominos that result in numerous schools following suit soon enough, we will not be including them in this overview.
Likewise, schools are looking into the financials of adding jersey sponsorships. It likely won’t impact college football this season but may crop up later in the year or in time for next season.
Alright, that’s enough up front. Let’s dive into every conference and team!

The Golden Bears move to the ACC (what?) this season, with the team’s jerseys and turf field reflecting the change. Cal will also be sporting new uniforms in their inaugural ACC season, mothballing the Sather Stripe design produced by Nike last year and Under Armour previously. The new uniforms evoke a throwback design, harkening to the 1970s and Joe Roth throwbacks worn for years now.
FSU has been showcasing a new turquoise uniform for recruit photoshoots and other insider features. It was also worn as the non-contact jersey for the team’s spring game. The color is related to the Native American tribes and has been the basis for Nike’s N7 program for years. Seminole basketball teams have worn the alternate color in games previously. It’s yet to be announced whether these will be worn in an official game for the football team, though fans are pushing for it to happen.
Louisville
Not the be left out of the Adidas alternate uniform trend this year, the Cardinals will sport gold-numbered and lettered jerseys. Unfortunately, that’s all we know at the time of publishing.
The 2024 Adidas altnernate uniforms include faux-mesh patterns on the numbers, stripes, and helmet decals. (image via Miami Athletics)
SMU is one of the new ACC members this season, so the field and jersey now carry a new logo. Head coach Rhett Lashlee has also teased a new uniform design coming this year, though it hasn’t been revealed at the time of writing.
Army is joining a conference for the first time since 2004, which means a new jersey patch. That new patch will don a Nike FUSE template for the Black Knights this season.
Details of the 49ers’ new Gold Rush uniforms. (image via Charlotte Football)
Charlotte
The 49ers have revealed a new Gold Rush uniform to be worn opening weekend against James Madison. The jersey matches the other uniforms with white UCLA stripes on the shoulders. The chest now features a small “Charlotte” wordmark that, along with the numbers, is outlined in green. These are paired with a new gold helmet that includes a single white stripe, white player numbers on the left and the primary C logo on the right. The pants are white with two gold stripes.
The shade of gold feels too light to be paired directly with white without the green being used as trim. The jerseys using this method and the pants and helmets not make this an odd design choice.
East Carolina
The ECU Pirates have added striped purple pants to the rotation to match the throwback purple tops added a few years ago. They previously paired this look with striped white and yellow pants.
The Mean Green will look clean. (image via North Texas Athletics)
UNT has had a few different looks over the years, swinging between the traditional and the not-so-much. The new Mean Green uniforms are a bit of a middle ground. The throwback design sticks with the striped jerseys and simple numerals while the winged helmet returns. North Texas has shown off the white helmets with green and white jerseys and pants. A new kelly green helmet is also going to be worn this season.
The UAB Blazers have new uniforms – again. A year after sporting new threads, they’ve been replaced with some tweaks. This new set includes five jersey and pant colorways, each consisting of contrasting collarbone and pants stripes, with the latter including “Blazers” down the leg. The five colors include green, white, black, grey with white numbers, and grey with neon green numbers. There are three new helmet designs on two shells: matte green with white decals, white green decals, and white with neon green and black decals.
Like last year’s uniforms, these come with unique roles. The green and white uniforms will be the home and away sets, respectively. The black threads are for Smile-A-Mile, an organization that helps provide hope for childhood cancer. The first grey uniform includes neon green details and marks the ninth season of the Children’s Harbor uniform partnership. These look to replace the name on the pants stripe with the truncated grey and white stripes worn in past years. Both of these designs will feature a child’s name on the jersey nameplate and be given to the family following the game. The remaining grey set is named the “Birmingham Series,” despite not having the city name displayed like with other sports on campus.
Oregon joins the Big 10 this season. The 30th anniversary of Oregon’s O logo coincides with a “Generation O” uniform set. Oregon released a new uniform every few weeks during the summer, beginning with a new black uniform. These combine a few eras of Ducks uniforms, including the original diamond-plate design.
The perfect Oregon uniform? It’s possible! (image via Oregon Athletics)
A white colorway of the black diamond-plate and wing design was leaked but has not been officially announced yet.
Purdue
Purdue has officially retired Nike’s Mach Speed template, being the last of the Power 5 holdouts. The new FUSE designs feature a beautiful set of stripes on the shoulders and pants with a matching decal on the helmets. It’s a new striping pattern for the Boilermakers and it works really well. The team showed off black and white jerseys, black and gold helmets, and black, gold, and white pants.
While not officially announced just yet, an alternate black uniform that matches the 2024 Adidas trend with perforated numbers appears to be on the way. The uniform was leaked through a retail jersey listing.
Wisconsin
The Badgers are also sporting the new Under Armour template. Much like their conference counterparts, Wisconsin has the primary logo on the collar with the new threads.
Big 12
Arizona State
ASU has joined the Big 12 this season with a new jersey patch to boot. The Sun Devils will also be sporting a new gold uniform this season, complete with gold pants and gold chrome jersey patches. This fits the Adidas alternate trend this season with the perforated numbers, but it doesn’t appear to infest the helmet decals, though we don’t have great photos of the lids.
Script helmet decals are popular and this may be one of the best. (image via Arizona Athletics)
Baylor is the epitome of creating a good-looking uniform that somehow misses the team’s mark. The Bears’ new uniforms come in green, yellow, and white with matching stripes on the shoulders and pants. The helmets remain stripeless with the BU logo on the sides.
After utilizing last year as a gap year, Cincy is officially signed with Nike rather than BSN as a middleman. The Bearcats will sport the new FUSE template in 2024 after sporting the cheaper “catalog” version of the template last year. This season also marks the 100th anniversary of Nippert Stadium, complete with its own commemorative logo design.
Colorado
The Buffalos returned to the Big 12 in 2024 and swapped out the Pac-12 patch on the jerseys. Colorado is also expected to reveal new uniforms this season, but they hadn’t been shown before publishing this piece. A mockup did leak, however, showing gold mountains on the sleeves. This comes from CTESPN, Antonio Brown’s network, which has been accurate with NFL uniform leaks this summer.
Stripes are in for 2024, and Iowa State wouldn’t let the trend pass them by. The Cyclones’ new uniforms come in all red, white, black, and a second white set. The red top has white and yellow stripes, the white jersey has red and yellow stripes, and the black jersey features white stripes. The other white uniform is simply white with black details. It’s another instance of Iowa State weirdly abandoning their school colors, but now on two uniforms. Each jersey includes the Jack Trice patch on the left chest.
2024 also marks the 50th anniversary of Jack Trice Stadium, which now has an anniversary logo.
I think it’s easy to dismiss these as another weird uniform, but the shoulder text reminds me of the old-school rivalry uniforms like Iowa State and other teams wore once upon a time. I also think they could have done something unique with the pants to match the jerseys.
TCU
The Nike FUSE template limits some capabilities that past templates had, which unfortunately results in TCU losing their unique Black Panther-esque collar design. The Horned Frogs’ new uniforms, available in purple, black, and white, take a much simpler approach. This design does, though, mark the return of chrome helmets – both purple and silver– with other designs expected throughout the season. The back of the collar includes a “Carter Boys” tag, a nod to the team’s stadium.
Texas Tech
Tech’s first set with Adidas is a solid, traditional look. (image via Texas Tech Athletics)
For the first time in a long time, West Virginia finally looks like West Virginia again. Placed on blue, gold, and white helmets, jerseys, and pants, the new WVU uniforms feature a contrasting USC-like shoulder stripe and triple stripes on the pants. The flying WV logo is placed on the helmets and shoulders while a large “Mountaineers” wordmark is placed on the chest. The only detractor from this set is the custom number font, though it’s still lightyears better than the old pickax font previously worn.
Welcome back to a decent uniform, Mountaineers. We’ve missed you. (image via West Virginia Athletics)
CUSA
Jacksonville State
The best part of Jacksonville State’s new uniforms is the vintage walking gamecock logo. (image via JSU Athletics)
Jax State, as they’ve been branding themselves, will sport three new uniforms this season. Coming in red, white, and black, the new sets each feature triple stripes on the shoulders and double stripes on the pants. In typical Adidas fashion, both stripes are smaller than the available real estate. All three jerseys have “Jax State” on the chest with block numbers below. The black and red pants have the school name on the right hip while the white britches have a gorgeous vintage-inspired logo design.
Three helmets were showcased with the new uniforms. The red helmet returns with three stripes (opposite of the red jerseys) and the stacked Jax State wordmark on the sides. The white shell is shown with two decals set, both including a single stripe and a large vintage Gamecock logo. Both sets of decals come in all red or all black, depending on the uniform selection.
The Gamecocks have also replaced their turf field and have placed the vintage logo design at midfield. The endzones also change from black to red with the new Jax State wordmark placed on both ends.
Kennesaw State
The Owls are one of the newest FBS-level teams and are joining the C-USA this season. With the move comes a new jersey patch.
Liberty knocked it out of the park this summer. (image via Liberty Athletics)
Liberty has teased additional helmet designs to be used throughout the year. They also likely still have the navy blue colorway available.
And finally, the Flames will have a new powder blue uniform. These match the other new uniforms revealed with a script chestmark and the vintage eagle on the collar and pants. These were shown paired with a white helmet, featuring a white Flames script with a blue drop shadow.
Louisiana Tech
LaTech has revealed a new white helmet for 2024. The new white helmets will include a powder blue script Tech mark on the sides with powder blue and red Northwestern stripes down the center. It’ll be the first time the Tech mark has been worn and only the second time the Louisiana-T logo hasn’t been featured since 1970.
The Hilltoppers will have a new red helmet option available this season. The team showed off the new shells with two different decal sets – one featuring a gorgeous script Tops wordmark and another with a classic, stacking WKU design. They will also be playing on a new turf field this season, complete with Big Red’s beautiful self-portrait being placed on the 25-yard lines.
MAC
Akron
The Zips have seemingly adopted a “master stripe” with their new uniforms this season. On both the white and blue colorways, the sleeves and pants will feature a gold/blue/white/blue/gold stripe. It appears as a traditional Northwestern stripe on the white set while looking like a mirrored set of stripes on the blue uniforms.
Bowling Green
New brown, white, and orange uniforms are on tap for BG this season. The new tops feature stripes on the sleeves that the school touted as being throwback-inspired. Orange jerseys are the big story here as they haven’t been part of the rotation for a few years.
The Falcons will be wearing special helmet decals against Northern Illinois. After hosting a kids logo design contest, two winners were selected. The offense will wear Ida’s design on one side of their helmets while the defense will sport Tegan’s rendering.
Sometimes the children are better designers than the professionals! (image via BG Athletics)
Eastern Michigan
Las Vegas Raiders star defensive lineman Maxx Crosby and his wife Racehl donated $1 million to Eastern Michigan athletics. After completing stadium renovations which included removing the track around the football field and a new turf field, the field itself was named Crosby Field. The turf retains the same grey field design that EMU has become known for.
Drop-shadows, stripes, script, and multiple helmet designs for the Red Hawks. (image via Miami Athletics)
Northern Illinois
The NIU Huskies have a new turf field at their home stadium. The primary husky-head logo gets placed at midfield while the endzones only feature the school nickname. The old design had the state shape at midfield and the primary logo placed in the endzones.
While Boise’s angled stripe design quickly became a Nike catalog option that many other teams jumped on, it was still a unique look that I think worked for Boise.
The team’s April Fool’s prank this season included a cow-spotted helmet design. The joke helmet, however, became popular among fans on social media. There have been hints that the design may be worn for a real game this year, though nothing has been officially announced.
This uniform comes in orange, white, black, and a dark grey “anthracite” version. The anthracite set is close to the black design but features a black outline on the numbers rather than orange.
It’s lonely in the Pac-12 this year, especially as the only team on this list. (image via Beavers Athletics)
SEC
Arkansas
Count the Razorbacks as another team jumping to the Nike FUSE template. The road white jerseys also saw the shoulder logo change to a full-color razorback. It was previously the red and white colorway that has been deemed not to fit the branding guides.
Auburn will sport the new Under Armour template for just one year before moving to Nike in 2025. (image via Auburn Athletics)
LSU is celebrating the 100th season of Tiger Stadium this year with a commemorative logo. The Tigers painted it on the field for the spring game. While it hasn’t been announced yet, I would expect to see the anniversary logo on the field this fall and a helmet decal. The October 12th game against Ole Miss is the Tiger Stadium Celebration game, which would be fitting to see a patch or alternate uniform appear here.
Mississippi State
The Bulldogs will join their Adidas brethren and sport an alternate uniform featuring faux perforations in the numbers, stripes, and helmet decals. Unlike the other designs, this uniform is all white. It’s a similar look to State’s usual white uniforms, with a single maroon stripe on the helmets and double stripes on the shoulders. Thanks to the new Adidas template that doesn’t have full shoulder caps, the sleeve stripes protrude forward a little more and are given this leading-edge look.
It’s admittedly a busy look for an unnecessary uniform. The fake mesh pattern hasn’t even appeared on the field yet and already feels overdone.
Oklahoma
Looking forward to seeing the 1950s throwbacks make their appearance this season. (image via Sooners Athletics)
The Sooners join the SEC and, of course, have added their new conference home to the jerseys. Oklahoma will also be sporting 1950s-era throwback uniforms for the week two matchup against Houston. The white shells only include a single crimson stripe, while the crimson jerseys have white Northwestern Stripes on the sleeves. The number font changes to mimic the period’s design. The throwbacks are part of Oklahoma’s 100th season of Memorial Stadium, which, naturally, has a commemorative logo.
The Gamecocks are jumping to Under Armour’s newest template. The shoulder stripes appear to be a bit wider. Unfortunately, the collar stripes terminate awkwardly before the mesh base or the collar.
South Carolina will also sport throwback uniforms for their September 21st game against Akron. The star-studded throwback design has a garnett jersey with white collars, sleeve cuffs, a large “Carolina” on the chest, and numerals on the sleeves. The helmets include garnett stars on the front flanking the three stripes that are reminiscent of the 1975-1981 design. The star is also added to the hip of the pants.
Tennessee
Tennessee has nailed it with this year’s Smokey Grey alternate. (image via Vols Athletics)
As a new member of the SEC, Texas has swapped out the Big 12 logos on their jerseys and field turf. 2024 also marks the 100th season of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, which comes with a commemorative logo.
Texas A&M
The Aggies will sport a new black alternate this season, joining some of the other Adidas teams. The black jersey includes white numbers with a chrome silver outline. The numbers retain the faux-mesh pattern that other Adidas alternates have this season. The Adidas logo and SEC patch are also rendered in a chrome-like finish.
The team hasn’t shown off the entire look just yet. They did tease what appears to be a black pair of pants with a maroon stripe, but no visuals of the helmet have been released yet.
The Mountaineers have revealed a new set of Nike FUSE uniforms that are similar to a few recent designs. The new threads have two yellow stripes on black shoulders, for both the black and white jerseys. The 2016-2019 threads had the same set of stripes but with the A logo on top. This looks to be the first App State uniform to not include the A logo on the shoulders since 2012.
Arkansas State
The boys from Jonesboro will be rocking new UCLA-striped uniforms this season. With black and white helmets available, the Red Wolves will have red, black, and white jerseys and pants with stripes on the tops and bottoms. The helmets will carry matching stripes.
Arkansas State did show off an additional helmet design with a running Red Wolve mascot decal. Fingers crossed that makes it on the field this season.
Lots of mix-and-match options for the Red Wolves. (image via Arkansas State Athletics)
Georgia Southern
GSU looks to have changed their grey facemasks out for white. This will mark the first time the Eagles have worn white masks with the navy helmets after sporting white masks and white shells a few times previously. The shells also look to have changed to a beautiful satin blue finish. With the white masks, this helmet will really pop on the field this year.
Louisiana
Bold new helmets for the Ragin Cajuns that work really well. (image via Louisiana Athletics)
ULM has revealed a new version of their P-40 Warhawk helmets. The same “face” previously worn returns on the shell, but all the decals include a lighter maroon and gold metallic finish. It appears to be a mix of the modern school branding with some of the historic design elements. These helmets will reportedly be worn as the new primary shell this year.
Marshall
Marshall has tweaked their helmets this season, moving to chrome decals. It’s a small change that can have a big impact with the additional sheen. The new-look decals appear on the white and black helmets.
Texas State
Texas State’s UFCU Stadium is undergoing construction to add a new Football Performance Center beyond the south endzone. A new turf field is also part of the renovations. The design looks to be similar to the previous field, albeit with the “Bobcats” added to one endzone and the UFCU logo added to the 25-yard lines.
Independent
The Irish will be going all-in on the gold for this year’s Shamrock Series game. (image via Notre Dame Athletics)
Notre Dame
The Irish will sport the new Under Armour template this season. Notre Dame looks to be the only team using the template that has the Under Armour logo on the collar. With no conference patch to balance the jersey, it was the right choice. The ND logo on the shoulders change from white to a metallic gold on the navy tops. Expect to see a similar change with the white jerseys.
Notre Dame will also sport a new Shamrock Series uniform this season. The entire set is based on a 1924 article about Notre Dame football in which they were nicknamed the “Four Horsemen.” That’s where the “blue-gray sky” base color comes from and the newspaper-inspired Gothic font for the numerals. The gold details across the uniform – the numbers, UA logo, and ND logos – feature a beveling effect.
The Irish have also announced that the annual green jersey game will be on September 28th against Louisville. The green tops have also transitioned to the new Under Armour template, per retail jerseys.
UMass
New black alternate uniforms for the Minutemen this season. Both the jerseys and pants feature a red/white/red striping pattern.
FCS
Central Arkansas has three new uniforms and three uniquely different helmet options (image via UCA Athletics)
Central Arkansas
Three new uniforms are on tap for the Central Arkansas Bears this year. The jerseys and pants come in purple, white, and black. The primary tops have TV numbers on the shoulders as the black jerseys include a few diagonal stripes.
The creativity comes with the three helmet designs showcased in the reveal. Paired with the purple uniform is a white shell with mostly-white bear head decals on the side and a purple center stripe consisting of some topographical pattern and what looks like a cloudy radar scan. The white uniform showed a helmet with purple and black bear heads on the side and a great black and purple center stripe. Both include some carbon-fiber-like pattern overlayed. Finally, the black uniforms have a white helmet with a single black stripe and script “Bears” mark on the sides.
Cornell
The Big Red are tweaking the helmet design again. The new lids remove black from the logo and stripes that have been used since 2019. The logo gets a double outline for the first time as the stripes revert to the 2009 look.
Davidson
The Wildcats have three new uniforms for 2024. The primary set includes a red jersey black collars and sleeve cuffs, white jersey with red collars and cuffs, and a black set with grey trim. An interlocking DC logo is placed on the chest and pants. The same DC logo dons what appears to be a new black helmet. The previous set was similar, albeit with shoulder stripes and a chestmark.
Grambling State
The Bulldogs have joined the Adidas alternate uniform game this season with a new red jersey. The numbers and sleeve stripes will have the perforation marks. The TV numbers will be red with black outlines on the red jersey. Unfortunately, the team has only showed off the new design with retail jerseys at the time of publishing.
Love the shamrock stripes and script combination here. (image via Mercyhurst Athletics)
Mercyhurst
After spending thirty years playing at the Division II level, the Mercyhurst Lakers have jumped up to FCS and are joining the Northeast Conference. The team will also sport a new grey set of uniforms this year, complete with a clover on the shoulder stripes.
Mississippi Valley State
Mississippi Valley State has revealed a few new logos for this season. The primary mark depicts a cleaner Devil and text compared to the haphazardly drawn old logo. Some additional marks were also released in this rollout.
Missouri State
The Bears have a new white uniform for 2024. The collar and collar-bone striped set of years past has been replaced with a cleaner look. The new white tops feature a single “bear claw”-looking stripe on the sleeves. “Mo State” replaces the full school name on the chest. White helmets have returned for the first time since 2019. Missouri State has also accepted a bid to join FBS and Conference USA next year.
North Carolina Central
The Eagles will be playing on a new turf field this year. The new design adds maroon endzones and a new endzone font, matching on both sides. The old carpet didn’t have the colored endzones and felt much more lacking.
That’s a bold green uniform for UND! (image via North Dakota Athletics)
Green uniforms return to Portland State for, I think, the first time since 2019. The new design has black shoulder caps with green and white stripes, black collars, and black numerals with a white outline.
How will South Dakato decal their new black helmets? (image via South Dakota Athletics)
Turning to the football team, the playing surface has been replaced with a new turf field. The new design features the primary SD logo at midfield with a state shape behind it. The endzones feature the Coyotes wordmark in white with no outline. The previous design had black outlines on the endzone text and the old crouching coyote logo at midfield.
South Dakota revealed black helmet shells with red candy flake in the paint. The initial images didn’t include decals. We must wait to see how these are decorated for game time at a later date, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see the new alternate logo appear.
Finally, the team’s April Fool’s joke teased really bad, outdated black jerseys. While the mockups were confirmed to be the joke, the story on the team site did indicate new black jerseys would be revealed on August 27th for the season-opening game against Northern State.
The Wolves have joined the United Athletic Conference for their first season at the FCS level. Unfortunately, WGU hasn’t shown off the new patch on their jerseys just yet.
Division II
Bloomsburg
While most teams have revealed quality uniform designs this offseason, one team missed the mark. The Bloomsburg Huskies have announced an all-black alternate uniform that will kick off the season on September 5th. The jerseys have a camo pattern with “greyed out logos” and white numbers with gold outlines. The pants are black with silver stripes. The team site’s article states a matte black helmet with silver logos will be paired with the look, though no photos of the lids were shown.
Carson-Newman
The Eagles have a new turf field this season. The new carpet features alternating light- and dark-green stripes on the field and new endzone lettering.
Clarion
The Golden Eagles of Clarion, Pennsylvania have replaced their turf football field. The previous design was pretty bare, with the endzones empty and the school name placed on the outer boundaries. The new carpet has navy endzones with the team name in white, alternating shades of green every five yards, and the PSAC conference logo at the 25-yard lines.
The best turf field award hands-down goes to the Edinboro Fighting Scots who have added a tartan pattern to the endzones. It goes perfectly well with their beautiful tartan helmets too!
(I love putting together this piece each year to discover schools I’ve never heard of like Edinboro and falling in love with their aesthetic.)
A tartan-designed football field should never be forgotten. (image via Edinboro Athletics)
After wearing Adidas uniforms previously, the Fort Hays State Tigers have reportedly signed with Nike via BSN. No uniforms have been showcased at the time of writing.
Frostburg State
The Bobcats appear to have added new red jerseys and white helmets to the arsenal this season. The black and white jerseys are held over from last year. Frostburg State also wore black helmets previously, which are presumably still available in 2024.
Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State Lakers fans broke the school’s season ticket record, therefore, the team gets rewarded with new powder blue uniforms. Black numbers have a chrome outline while the chestmark is reversed. The shoulders include black/chrome/black stripes. The helmet is black with a light blue and chrome stripe and the anchor GVSU logo on one side.
The Lakers will also be playing their home games this year on a new turf field. The new design has black endzones with white lettering and a black border around the entire field. Previously, the endzones were unpainted with white and black italic letters.
The Choctows are switching things up a bit this year. After previously being a yellow-primary team, Mississippi College is going to navy blue. The new uniforms have large chestmarks with powder blue trim on the collar and around the numbers. The helmet gets a large feather stripe with the MC logo being white trimmed in powder blue.
Missouri S&T
After previously wearing Nike uniforms, the Miners have jumped to Under Armour. The new UA threads include a massive school logo on the chest with gold and green stripes on the sleeves.
Nebraska-Kearney
Are the Lopers changing helmet designs this season? (image via X/Twitter)
A lot of new items this year for the Wolves. First, a new white helmet featuring a wolf head logo and a single red stripe. New red and white jerseys with sleeve stripes are available to pair with white and red pants. The red jersey has “The Berry” on the chest as the road tops use the school name.
The team will have two alternate looks as well. A pink-trimmed red jersey will be used for a breast cancer awareness promotion as a red-and-white camo top looks to be a military appreciation design.
North Greenville has retired the Crusaders nickname in favor of Trailblazers. The new logo features a red fox, which is native to the South Carolina area. It appears as though the football team will continue to use the interlocking NG logo on their helmets, though.
Northern Michigan
The Superior Dome, home of the Panthers, has a fresh new roll of carpet for 2024. The new turf has a larger midfield logo, white and gold outlined “NMU” in the endzone, and the conference logos at the 25-yard lines. The previous turf field had checkerboard endzones.
Pitt State
The Gorillas (yes, really) have revealed their new look for the season opener against Ferris State. Black jerseys feature crimson numbers with gold outlines and triple stripes on the shoulders. They are paired with white helmets and pants. The helmets feature a full-body gorilla silhouette.
For the first time in a few years, the Western Oregon Wolves will have a new black uniform. Two red stripes don the jerseys and pants with red numbers. The black helmet shells are stripeless but include a red and grey W logo on the sides.
Division III
Berry College
Berry College has an incredible new Viking helmet logo for 2024. This comes after the academic and athletic sides of the school used the same B-Shield logo following the retirement of the old Viking logo.
Central College
The Iowa-based Central College Dutch have a new playing surface for 2024. The modern primary C logo sits at midfield rather than the wishbone C, and the endzone wordmarks have been updated from the previous carpet.
Conference of New England
The former Commonwealth Coast Conference has changed its name to the Conference of New England and has released its new logo.
A new asymmetric helmet design is going to be worn this season. (Grinnell Athletics)
The Pioneers have a new helmet design for 2024. The right side of the helmet features an arching wordmark with the player number placed underneath. The left side is empty except for the Davis Cooper memorial decal. Cooper was a freshman linebacker for Grinnell when he was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler walking along Interstate 80 in Iowa.
The “Honor G” logo that previously donned Grinnell’s helmets has been under scrutiny lately. The design has been used by the school since 1892, but leadership is looking to distance themselves from a very similar design used by Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
Macalester College
The Macalester Scots have selected a new mascot – the Highland Cow. The cow has a history with the school, with legend indicating it was used in a prank early in its history. A new logo depicting Heiland Coo has been introduced, though it’s unclear if it replaces the shield logo as the primary.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy
The Buccaneers are replacing the cartoony pirate logo with a flat, face-on design.
You just can’t go wrong with a script logo. (image via Pomona-Pitzer Athletics)
It’s been 82 years since Roanoke last fielded a football team in 1942. The Maroons will return to the gridiron this year as a club sport before jumping to Division III next year. They will play just five games, all on Sundays, at the local high school’s stadium.
With the rebirth of the program comes a new set of uniforms. The new threads feature white helmets, white pants, and white and maroon jerseys, each with double stripes. The Maroons’ bird head logo will don both sides of the helmet shells.
SUNY Morrisville has supposedly retired the “Morrisville State” name and since updated the primary logo. The logo removes the school name banner and updates the Mustang’s lightning bolt eye to a lime green.
Thiel College
The Pennsylvania-based Tomcats have a new turf field this year. The new design adds light blue trim around the entire field. The soccer and lacrosse field markings also appear more subtle than the previous carpet.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh
The Titans will look sharp this season with their new uniforms, which include Northwestern stripes on the sleeves and a similar stripe on the pants. Their previous look was a typical Under Armour design, with the double stripe on a black background on the shoulders and on the pants around the kneecaps. The white set differed, too, with a diagonal shoulder stripe that was carried over onto a traditional pant stripe location.
Football season is just days away! Tune in this weekend for Week 0 and next week for the rest of the country. Keep this list close by so you can be the one to point out all the new uniforms, helmets, and logos!
