The 2024-25 athletic season was one for the record books for most Auburn programs. From historic firsts to high-level play, the Auburn Tigers made sure this was a memorable year.
This year also marked the final season of the Tigers wearing Under Armour apparel, with Nike taking over on July 1st. With the athletic calendar now complete, let’s take a look back at every sport through the lens of the uniforms.
A New Era
At the time of publishing, the transition to Nike officially takes place in just a few days. Just about every team on campus will debut new uniforms in their upcoming season. The Auburn Uniform Database will cover all the new releases as they happen, so stay tuned for that. In preparation for the New Era Day, read our coverage of the new deal signed last April.
Baseball
After a disappointing 2024 season in which the Tigers missed the postseason, the 2025 season was a much-needed bounce-back. Auburn earned the 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament and would host a Super Regional for the first time in program history. Unfortunately, the Tigers would fall to Coastal Carolina, bringing an end to a special season prematurely.
Auburn continued to wear the same uniform design as the previous two years. The uniform schedule put in place in 2023 remained almost intact. The diversions came with a new blue jerseys/pinstripe pants combination that hadn’t been seen with this uniform set. That became the team’s go-to midweek look.
The NCAA Tournament began having teams wear the blue NCAA patch last year. With the Tigers returning to postseason play this season, it was the first time the patch donned an Auburn jersey. It sat opposite the Under Armour on the left chest, a much better placement than previous postseason patches.
Here are the final uniform records for the 2025 season:

Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball season was arguably the best in program history. The Tigers were able to navigate a historically difficult schedule and earn the top overall seed for the NCAA Tournament.
But let’s start from the beginning of the year. For the 2023-24 season, the NCAA allowed all numbers between 0 and 99 to be worn on a jersey. No Tiger took advantage of that opportunity last year, but they capalized on it this year. Two numbers were worn for the first time in program history – CJ Williams with #7 and Ja’Heim “Turtle” Hudson in the #8. Drake Cardwell, the younger brother of beloved Dylan Cardwell, wore #17, becoming the third player in team history to don the number. It hadn’t been seen on the hardwood since the 1946-47 season, however.
As the season progressed, a developing story surrounded Auburn and their alternate orange uniforms. After debuting last year and being worn to a 3-3 record, Auburn didn’t sport them once for the 2024-25 season. While many theorized it was due in part to the upcoming transition to Nike, it simply wasn’t the case.
Auburn had only sported the white and navy colorways during the non-conference portion of the season. As the games came and went and the Tigers continued winning, superstition quickly set in. Even after the few losses on the year, the orange remained in the closet.
During the Georgia game in January, Dylan Cardwell’s jersey suffered a rip at some point. Cardwell returned to the game wearing a #40 jersey with no name on the back – the team’s backup “blood jersey” for such occasions. The blood jersey had seen a few appearances in recent seasons, but hadn’t been seen since 2023.
As the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, Auburn would fight through the Lexington and Atlanta brackets. For the second time in program history, the Tigers were going to the Final Four.
The San Antonio Final Four patch was added to the Tigers’ white jerseys. In celebration of the milestone, Under Armour changed their logos from navy to a shimmering gold, similar to Nike and the diamond Swoosh used for the College Football Playoffs. Under Armour did the same for South Carolina in the Women’s Final Four.

Women’s Basketball
It was a tough season for the Women’s Basketball program. The Tigers scrapped their way to a 12-18 record, with many of the losses being heartbreaking, close games. Following the conclusion of the season, Coach Johnnie Harris was let go. Auburn hired Larry Vickers from Norfolk State for the upcoming season.
Uniform-wise, it was pretty uneventful for the Tigers this year. All three colorways were utilized throughout the season, with the pink threads being broken out for just one game.
The Women’s Basketball uniforms catalog dates back to the 2003-04 season. Those historic designs can be seen here.
Football
The 2024 Auburn Football season was a busy one despite being the final year of the Under Armour contract.
The Tigers sported a new Under Armour uniform template that was drastically different than previous versions. Visually, it made for larger shoulder stripes and pushed the chest decorations down slightly with the diagonal seams. Belts were removed from the pants, making this the first year the team went fully with drawstring pants after some players sported the belt-less style a few years ago.
Alongside the new template, Auburn debuted yet another captaincy patch design – the third style in three years. Auburn returned to the NFL style C patch, but now with the background matching the jersey color. When Harsin introduced the captain’s patches in 2022, a navy C on an orange square donned the navy jerseys while an orange C on a navy square was used on the white jerseys.
The NCAA allowed coach-to-player communications for this season. Players with the in-helmet communication devices were indicated by a green “C2P” decal on the back of the helmet. Some players, including the quarterbacks, would wear earhole covers to minimize the crowd noise from impacting their hearing of the calls.
Auburn would continue to wear the white and orange facemasks this year. The white cage was worn for two of the four road games, while the orange mask appeared once against Oklahoma.
Beyond the football team itself, there was a big change that was long-awaited for by many. The Auburn University Marching Band twice sported the rare “Blueberries” combination – blue jackets and blue pants – at home. This look is typically reserved for pep band road trips. The AUMB hadn’t worn all navy for a home game since the 2011 Samford game and would do so TWICE this year!
The largest uniform collection on this site is the football program. You can view uniforms from 1921 to the present day here.
Gymnastics
The 2025 Gymnastics season saw 15 different leotards worn in the team’s 15 meets. The back half of the year was loaded with brand new leotard designs, with six new leos being debuted this year. The final design, Renaissance, was sported at the NCAA Championships with two Tigers competing as solos.

Soccer
Auburn Soccer has sported a striped sash look since 2014, making adjustments to the design over the last decade. For the final season with Under Armour, the Tigers took the opportunity to wear another sash uniform, the fifth iteration of the sash.
This kit set saw relatively minor changes to the previous style. The sash stripe was made a little thinner and the collar was tweaked to no longer be cut-off. For the shorts, the side stripe was straightened and the logos on the front swapped places.
Auburn would wear four colorways, with a new powder blue keeper kit featuring tone-on-tone stripes.
Auburn would earn the program’s 18th NCAA Tournament appearance. Despite being well accustomed to the postseason, this year marked the first time the Tigers would wear the blue NCAA patch. Unlike other sports, NCAA soccer teams didn’t wear the patch until 2022.
The Tigers would place the patch on the chest, directly above the Under Armour logo.
At the end of the season, Karen Hoppa retired as head coach. Hoppa’s 26-year tenure as head coach at Auburn concluded with a 293-192-60 record, two SEC titles, and all 18 of the program’s NCAA Tournament appearances. James Armstrong will take over the position this season after spending years as the Mississippi State head coach. Armstrong previously served as an assistant coach under Hoppa at Auburn.

Softball
In the first year of the Malveaux era, Auburn Softball fought to a strong non-conference record, but faltered during SEC play. The Tigers earned their way into the NCAA Tournament and were once again sent to Tallahassee. Auburn would eventually fall to FSU in the regional finale, but they showed a good fight until the end.
For the 2025 season, the Tigers continued to wear the same uniforms from last year. The teal-trimmed white jersey for Alex Wilcox Day returned as well.
The biggest uniform-related change for this season was with the batting helmets. Auburn sported three different helmet designs this year: white with orange details, white with navy details, and a full navy shell, new for this year.
The Auburn Softball team wore 21 total uniform combinations in 2025, breaking the former record of 19 in 2021. Here’s a look at each combination and how the team fared in each look:

Volleyball
Not to be left out of the fun, the Auburn Volleyball team also received brand new uniforms to be worn during the 2024 season.
Three new tank top style jerseys were utilized this season. The navy and orange colorways featured contrasting collars. A powder blue libero tops matched in all facets except for the collar. A fourth jersey, a long-sleeve navy top, included a set of Northwestern stripes on the side of the torso. It was only worn once, versus South Alabama in a Birmingham tournament.
