The Nike Era is well underway at Auburn. The Auburn Football program now joins the party after kicking off the 2025 season on Friday night at Baylor.
The Tigers’ uniforms were as expected – white threads on Nike’s Vapor F.U.S.E. template, white helmets, white facemasks. But there were additional items that weren’t previously announced that we got a first look at in Waco, TX.
Let’s take a look at everything new on the 2025 Auburn Football uniforms.
Just like Auburn showcased in early July, the Tigers showed up to Waco with the all white Nike uniforms. Even with the Nike check on the chest and the Vapor F.U.S.E. template, the traditional Auburn uniform design remained untouched.
Before kickoff, Auburn revealed the new captaincy patch for the 2025 season. Now in its fourth season of use, the Tigers have worn four different patches to designate the team captains. The new patch is similar in design to last year’s – a navy C on a white, rounded square. We can presume the home jerseys will have a reversed colorway like last year.
The 2024 patches were modeled after the NFL’s captaincy patches with the rounded C. The new patches have a block C to better match the number font. The patch itself is also not as wide as the previous edition.
Auburn’s helmet saw a number of small changes.
We knew that the helmet bumpers were being changed to the Copperplate font, but we didn’t get many high-quality photos back in July. Nor did we see the rear bumper.
For many years, the chinstraps carried “Auburn Tigers” decals on the upper straps. Those have now been removed (for the most part), with just the AU logo on the chin cup remaining. (Some players, like Damari Alston, still had the chinstrap decals.)
Even though Auburn is no longer associated with Under Armour, the Tigers haven’t gotten rid of Under Armour entirely. All players wearing visors continued to utilize the Under Armour visor clips to attach them to the visors. UA clips are generally considered the best available option.
Last season, some players began sporting SHOC visors. Those remained this season, with other players sporting new Oakley visors. Quarterback Jackson Arnold used a pink-tinted Oakley visor with Under Armour clips on Friday night.
SHOC visors have an angular visor tab that barely appears above the facemask bars, while Oakley visors have much more material visible. The Oakley visors look similar to Under Armour’s with the rounded visor tabs.
Now, let’s turn the helmet around and tackle the back side of the shell.
The decals on the back of the helmet – the SEC logo, USA flag, and player number decals – have seen a good bit of change over the last few years. From design changes to location moves, things have changed almost annually.
The American flag decal returns to a traditional, flat decal after being a textured EmbossTech flag. It also moves back to the right side of the stripe above the warning decal.
The SEC decal, for the first time, will match the jersey patch. After featuring orange letters on a blue circle, the decal will now have white letters, a blue circle, and an orange outline. It returns to its rightful spot, left of the stripes.
The player number decals were most recently large two-colored decals on the left of the stripe. Prior to that, they were small decals in the same location. Now, the numbers return to a small size, but are placed on the center orange stripe.
It’s the same placement that was used during the Tuberville era, but the numbers are now white rather than navy.
With the player numbers moved, it opened up space under the SEC decal for a new addition – the Brother Chette Williams memorial.

Williams played football for Auburn from 1982 to 1984. He then joined the Auburn football staff as team chaplain in 1999, a position he held until his death.
On December 15, 2024, Williams was spending his Sunday boating on Lake Martin. After stopping at a local restaurant on the river, Williams slipped on the dock while attempting to get back in the boat. He reportedly hit the boat before falling into the water.
Williams was a beloved member of the Auburn community. In addition to his role as team chaplain, Williams served as the Auburn campus director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the state director for urban ministries for FCA.
The BCW decal is the first memorial decal on an Auburn football helmet since 2020, when the Tigers honored former head coach Pat Dye, who died in June. In 2019, a special decal was worn to memorialize the team broadcaster, Voice of the Auburn Tigers, Rod Bramblett, and his wife, Paula. The Brambletts were killed in a car wreck just off campus.
Here’s a quick look back at Auburn’s helmet memorial history:
Now that we’ve seen the full set of changes for the uniform, here’s an updated side-by-side graphic that now includes all the helmet details.
