Auburn Baseball Uniform Tracker Week 5
After a great week of baseball, the Auburn Tigers kept up their winning ways through a long week of games. Auburn played two mid-week games, one away at Kennesaw State Tuesday night, and then hosting Alabama State Wednesday night.
Justin Camp got the start Tuesday night versus the Owls of Kennesaw State and ended up with the win. The Tigers won 6-1, on 10 hits and 5 errors, to get their fourth straight win on the season. The Tigers broke out the grey uniforms for only the second time this season.
The following night, Auburn hosted Alabama State looking for revenge on the opening home game loss to the Hornets. Auburn defeated Alabama State by a score of 6-5 to add to the winning streak. Auburn broke out the throwback uniforms, including Keegan Thompson’s messed up jersey. Jay Wade earned the start and win.
The weekend series consisted of the first SEC games of the season, in which the Tigers hosted the #23 Aggies of Texas A&M. Dillon Ortman got the start, the win, the complete game, and the shut out in a 4-0 win in the opening game. Auburn wore the orange uniforms for the game like they usually do for either a mid-week game or Friday night game.
For the second game of the series, freshman Keegan Thompson got the start. With a score of 5-2, with 15 hits, Thompson earned his second complete game. Auburn wore the pinstripes for this game.
The third game of the series was also played on Saturday as the second part of the double header, for bad weather was expected Sunday. After game one, Auburn went in and changed into the blue uniforms with white pants. The best part about this, the Tigers broke out some awesome new stirrups. Previously, Auburn has only worn two pairs of stirrups in the past, the plain blue ones and the pair with the orange and blue stripes. These new stirrups were a great surprise and looked great paired with this set.
The new standings per uniform are as follows (with a new design!):
I’m having this piece run on Monday this week for a special reason. Come Tuesday or Wednesday, a special NCAA Tournament Bracket Challenge piece will run. I’m picking my bracket based solely on the teams’ uniforms! Sign up here if you want to play!
